The prime focus of the series “Empty Spaces” is on a person seeking a ‘comfortable place’ that could be called home. In this unsteady world each one of us wants to have an unalienable realm in this universe. A new type of people who simultaneously love and hate the City is emerging in this quest. The City is artificial matter which coalesces into one with living human beings and comes to being something independent and very attrahent at the same time. It is vigorous energy, artificial mind, but it is only emptiness without people. We have the same emptiness inside us that needs to be filled in. And we gorge. The utter spaces.
What’s going on in each picture is a dialog between a person and the City. The windows, which enable us to maintain the illusion of communication, in fact are screens with images of utter space, stand-still or volant.
