21 september 2011 — 30 october 2011

“Voyeurs” is a complete installation consisting of freestyle copies and interpretations of the works of 20th century artists, primarily conceptualists.

In this artistic experiment, the artists convey their ideas use images and elements created by others. The purpose of the appropriation is to reincarnate famous works of art by establishing new relationships and a new set of meanings.

Our goal is to construct an unusual situation for these images by placing them in a single space and then observing the interaction between the “copies” of works by Russian, Western European and Asian artists.

Areas:

«Reading Room» This area displays works featuring text and focus on the word as symbol and message. Think of the information stream modern humans are subjected to.

«Retroblyambafuturism» This area illustrates the movement theory of Viktor Skersis’ “Retroblyambafuturism,” highlighting the links between art in the past and the future, various countries, epochs and schools.

«Modern Myths» In this area, Russian artists interpret works by Western European and Asian artists. Russian conceptualist works are also subject to appropriation. This section will narrate Russia’s modern myths and its reality, with a special focus on the characters found in these modern myths.
